A benefit is being planned for Michael
Scriven.
Mike is an 18-year-old
high school student who was diagnosed in
September 2007
with
Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) and Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia
(ALL).
Mike is currently undergoing rigorous testing, including bone marrow
biopsies,
lumbar punctures, frequent blood draws, platelets and blood transfusion
along with intensive chemotherapy. A stem cell transplantation
using his
brother's donated marrow is planned for early 2008.
Mike will be graduating from Guerin High School
with his friends in May 2008 and plans on attending college.

The benefit will be held at
The Irish
American Heritage Center,
4626 North Knox Avenue, Chicago
on
Saturday, June 21, 2008,
from 6pm to midnight.
The donations raised from this benefit will
help
defray Mike's current and long term medical expenses.
Donations are
voluntary at the door.
Food, music and entertainment
will be
provided,
as well as a
Grand Raffle and Silent Auction.
There will be a cash
bar.
